New blog entry: Sam Setter highlights success story

07/06/2017
Sam Setter’s new column highlights the example of Din Industries in Pakistan as a business that has grown from a small, family-run hides trader to a multi-million dollar leather and textiles group in 50 years.

“The rise of his Din Group of Industries as one of the major business groups in the country is the story of almost 50 years of hard work and perseverance,” he says.

Its chairman, SM Muneer, “has strong and unshakable faith that if people work hard with honesty for any objective, they will always achieve their goals and reap the fruits of their efforts”.

Sam Setter thinks it could prove an inspiration to the African leather industry, and hopes for some positive action. He argues that United Nations money would be better used as collateral to set up credits to buy machines and chemicals rather than used for workshops, training sessions and strategy development.
