Loewe to reward craftsmanship

11/04/2016
Luxury leathergoods brand Loewe is to follow in the footsteps of parent company LVMH and launch a prize celebrating craftsmanship within the industry.

The yearly initiative, which will see the winner claim a €50,000 prize, will reward functionality as well as aesthetic appeal and follows on from the success of the LVMH Prize which was first awarded in 2014 to celebrate young fashion designers.

As well as the financial reward on offer, the winner will have the chance to exhibit their work and produce a catalogue featuring their designs. Applicants have until November 7 to submit their entry and a shortlist of 14 will be announced shortly afterwards.

The inaugural winner will be crowned in April 2017 after the judging panel, led by Loewe’s Creative Director Jonathan Anderson, have had the opportunity to assess all of the competitors.
