Dior creative director joins LVMH Prize panel
16/01/2017
The prize was launched in 2013 and is open to any designer under the age of 40 who has produced and sold at least two men’s or women’s ready-to-wear collections. In 2016, it was awarded to British-Jamaican designer Grace Wales Bonner.
The winner is selected by a panel of influential industry figures, many of whom are the creative directors of LVMH-owned brands. These include Jonathan Anderson of Loewe, Nicolas Ghesquière of Louis Vuitton, Karl Lagerfeld of Fendi, Phoebe Philo of Céline and Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy. This year’s jury will also include Maria Grazia Chiuri, who was named creative director of Dior in July.
Besides the 300,000 euro prize, the winner will also receive a year of mentoring and personal coaching from a LVMH team, which will help them to develop their business. Designers can apply until February 5.
