India is one of leather sector’s greatest bets, says CICB

The eight Brazilian tanneries and hides suppliers heading to the India International Leather Fair (IILF) are targeting a total of $6 million in business from the fair, which takes place in Chennai between February 1 and 3.

“India is already one of the sector’s greatest bets as an alternative market. In that sense, IILF has proved to be an excellent opportunity for Brazilian companies to discover and explore the ever growing Indian market”, said José Fernando Bello president of CICB (the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry).

The Brazilian companies heading to the show are Coming Indústria e Comércio de Couros,
Curtume CBR, Curtume Cacique, Hason International Representação, Hop Ying Leatherex, JBS Couros, Liderkoll and Minerva.

Chennai will also be hosting between the 19th International Union of Shoe Industry Technicians congress following IILF.
