Trumpler to strengthen its support of Indian leather market
23/01/2015
The principal change Trumpler is making in India is that it will now have a new resident beamhouse technician there, R. Sudhakar, who will be close at hand to work with tanners across India on new and existing ideas and projects. Mr Sudhakar will also have dedicated support from Trumpler in Germany in the shape of Jens Kurstjens.
At IILF, Trumpler will introduce a series of products that are new in the Indian market. These include Truposyl LL, a synthetic fatliquor, and Trupofix SA2.
Truposyl LL can be used to produce light, fluffy leathers, and meets the stringent demands laid down for automotive leather, Trumpler said in the build-up to the event. It can be used on wet blue and wet white and can be used on its own or in combination with other fatliquors where it assists with penetration and uptake.
For its part, Trupofix SA2 is an auxiliary agent designed to prevent the formation of chrome VI, preventing oxidation of chrome III to chrome VI and reducing any existing chrome VI content in wet blue. It can be applied to wet blue, crust or finished leathers without any detrimental effect on the quality of the finished leather: touch, colour and physical properties remain unchanged, Trumpler said.
Other products on display include Trupofix FST, a blend of compounds that may be used to reduce or eliminate free formaldehyde in leather, and the Trupotan Bio range of natural biopolymers that can be used to improve the dye intensity and levelness of wet white and wet blue leathers. Formaldehyde-free, the range yields leather with a good fullness and mellow handle and has no negative effect on water-resistant articles.
