The delegation, which includes three tanneries, will attend the India International Leather Fair (IILF) at the start of February, visit Indian counterparts, and meet footwear and accessories makers in Chennai and New Delhi.
José Fernando Bello, president of CICB, said India is a promising market. “This mission is connected to the strategic objectives of the sector: diversifying buying countries, and increasing clients and destinations for Brazilian leather exports.”
Tanneries JBS Couros, Curtume Cubatão and Coming, and agent Hop Ying Leatherex are taking part in the trip.
Last year, India’s Council for Leather Exports visited Brazil, cementing trade ties.
