IILF-branded show under way in New Delhi

The India International Leather Fair (IILF) is under way New Delhi, opened by India’s Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Kalraj Mishra.

India’s Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) announced in February that exhibitions in New Delhi and Kolkata would rebrand themselves using IILF name, which had been the preserve of the finished leather, leather chemicals and tanning machinery event that takes place each year in Chennai in January or February.

The New Delhi event focuses on footwear, materials and machinery, housing 120 exhibitors.

Around two 2 billion square feet of leather are produced annually in the country, according to organisers, and the sector is one of the top 10 foreign exchange earners
