India: CLE awards 65 leather companies for exports
The Indian Council for Leather Exports (CLE) has awarded trophies to 65 companies of the leather sector on their excellent export performance during 2010-11, at the India International Leather Fair 2012 (IILF) in February in Chennai, India.
Super House Limited, Kanpur, India received the ‘top export winner’ award for the year 2010-11 for overall exports in leather sector. Mirza International of Kanpur and Tata International of Mumbai received second and third position respectively.
Similarly, Tata International and Prime International, Ranipet received trophies for first and second place respectively on exports of more than $20 million worth of finished leather. On exports of leather footwear over $20 million, Mirza International, Kanpur and Super House won first and second place respectively.
In footwear components, Althaf Shoes, Chennai won first place on exports of more than $20 million. In the leather garments category, Bhartiya International, New Delhi won first place on exports of more than $20 million.
In the leathergoods category, Rabia Leather Industries, Chennai and Crew B.O.S. Products, Gurgaon won first and second place respectively, on exports of more than $20 million each.
