Tata and GST launch automotive leather venture

Indian leather exporter Tata International is to form a joint venture with GST Autoleather to supply leather products to the automotive industry, headquartered in Mumbai with operations in Dewas. 

Tata managing director Noel Tata and Dennis Hiller, CEO of GST AutoLeather, said in a joint statement: “TIL, with its deep experience in producing leather for the Indian market, and GST’s global automotive experience brings together two companies that share common values and a relentless pursuit of excellence.”
 
The new company, Tata International GST Auto Leather Limited, is expected to launch within two months.

Tata won the export performance award at the recent India International Leather Fair in Chennai.  

Tata International tannery was a Tannery of the Year finalist for Asia excluding China in 2009.
