BASF’s R&D expansion enters next phase

Chemicals group BASF has begun the €90 million expansion of its research and development (R&D) capabilities at its China headquarters in Shanghai.

The facility, which houses the leather research department, will bring new applications to the region and serve the needs of local markets.

Chief technology officer Dr Martin Brudermüller said: “The Innovation Campus is BASF’s largest R&D centre in the region and an important location in BASF’s global research and development network. The expansion will boost our power to innovate in Asia Pacific for Asia Pacific, and the world.”
