Slight sales dip for BASF in third quarter

Leather chemicals maker BASF has reported a slight decline (5%) in sales for its third quarter 2015 to €17.4 billion.

Volumes in the chemicals business, which comprises the Chemicals, Performance Products and Functional Materials & Solutions segments, were below the level of the prior-year quarter.

Overall, the group was impacted by and sharp drop in the price of oil as well as recession in Brazil and slower growth in China.
