The fourth Freiberg Leather Days conference will take place in Berlin on June 18 and 19. Germany’s leather chemists’ and technologists’ society (VGCT) and Freiberg-based research institute FILK will be the joint organisers.

Academics and researchers from many parts of Europe will take most of the speaker slots, but leather chemical firms will also play a prominent role.

Claus Reineking of Stahl will speak on the subject of producing chrome-free leather using the EasyWhite Tan system and Dietrich Tegtmeyer of Lanxess will give a presentation on volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in leather production.

Also on the programme, Ju¨rgen Christner of TFL will address the conference on the possibilities of using modified glutaraldehyde as a tanning technology, and BASF’s Heidrun Goth will speak about her company’s Valure transfer-coating system.
