Press in Italy have reported how thieves have escaped with around €50,000 worth of leather from a tannery in Ponte a Egola.

The theft at Conceria Bretagna was discovered when the tannery reopened after the summer break on September 1.

The thieves were caught on surveillance camera and police are investigating.

It is at least the third theft from a tannery in the area over the summer.

Gucci tannery Blutonic also suffered a fire during the break.
