Speakers line up for World Leather Congress
Italian tanners association UNIC has released further details on the World Leather Congress, which will take place in Milan on September 8.

The event, hosted by Fondazione Edison, will analyse the global tanning industry, a $50 billion sector made up of 12,000 companies and 200,000 employees, according to UNIC.

Machinery makers Mario Serrini from Italprogetti and Gianni Maitan from Gemata will discuss innovation and technology for the environment, while Kaison Chang from the FAO will outline trade and policies in the supply chain.

TFL’s Campbell Page will highlight development in chemicals and Marco Fortis from Università Cattolica di Milano will talk about recent leather demand.

National tanning associations from Italy, China, Brazil, the US, Spain, France, Germany, the UK, Portugal, Turkey, Taiwan, Japan, South Africa and Comesa African countries will also present reports on the state of the industry in their countries.
