Unic names its new president

Giovanni Russo, president of Russo di Casandrino tannery in the province of Naples, has been named the president of Unic at the Italy’s tanning industry association’s general assembly in Milan.

He takes over from Rino Mastrotto.

Mr Mastrotto told the delegates that exports from the industry in 2014 were flat in value and volume, but that forecasts for 2015 are disappointing. He added that it is time for the tanning industry to diversify if it is to retain its standing in the global leather pipeline.
