Leather design competition enters fifth year in Brazil
The fifth edition of the Design Na Pele initiative – a leather design competition in Brazil – is taking place in partnership trend research centre Arsutoria Vision Lab, whose consultants are working alongside five Brazilian tanneries.

The tanneries – Couroquimica, Natur Leather, Fuga Couros, JBS Couros and Nova Kaeru – will create new leathers that will be used by young designers to make bags and shoes.

Five young designers from the international network of Arsutoria School will work with a tannery to create a capsule collection, as part of the The Next Gen Designers Project.

From this, two prototypes will be chosen and produced by Arsutoria School for each capsule.

The prototypes will become part of the Brazilian Leather collection and may be exhibited during trade fairs and global events.

Since 2013, the Brazilian Leather collection has been exhibited in more than 30 events including Première Vision (Paris), Lineapelle (Milan), Lineapelle New York, APLF (Hong Kong), ACLE (Shanghai), Shoes and Leather Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh) and Inspiramais (Sao Paulo).
