Acquisitive JBS continues to grow

Brazil-based meat and tannery group JBS has continued its acquisition spree with the purchase of meats brands King’s and Principe through its subsidiary Rigamonti.
JBS has bought four King’s plants in Italy for €82 million as well as the entire operation of Principe in the US, which includes a plant dedicated to slicing cuts in New Jersey.King’s Group is a market leader in the production of Prosciutto di San Daniele and is an important player in the production of Prosciutto di Parma.
Rigamonti will also hold a 20% equity stake in Piggly, an Italy-based producer of 100% antibiotic-free pigs, with two facilities.
