Italian tannery promotes graphene-treated leather

24/02/2022
Family owned tannery Conceria Nuvolari is presenting a range of graphene-treated leathers at Lineapelle in Milan (February 22 to 24).

The graphene adds durability to the leather, making it suitable for clothing, footwear, seating and furniture, said the company.

Conceria Nuvolari was founded in 2009 and has a strong focus on research and development.

Its Nature-L collection is certified for biodegradability and compostability. In 2020, it was awarded the Italian Leather Research Institute - SSIP ISO 20136 Standard Biodegradability in aerobic conditions of 85% in 45 days.

To offset the carbon footprint related to the Nature-L line, the Marche-based company has supported projects in India and South Korea.

Its Skingoat leathers – which can be made with Nature-L process - are breathable, thermoregulating and comfortable, and are aimed at the footwear and clothing sectors.
