Mipel Lab goes ahead at Lineapelle, despite date-change
Dates for the Mipel leathergoods exhibition have moved to March 13-15, but leathergoods still have a presence at the Rho exhibition centre in Milan around the original dates.
Initially, the plan was to have the start of the February edition of Lineapelle overlap with the last day of Mipel. Following the date-change, Italy’s main leathergoods manufacturers’ body, Assopellettieri , decided to continue with its intention of showcasing its Mipel Lab idea at Lineapelle.
Mipel Lab is an initiative Assopellettieri launched last year to connect Italian leathergoods manufacturers with brands at home and overseas. This meant buyers visiting Lineapelle had the chance to meet a whole group of finished leathergoods manufacturers, examine their work and talk to them about the possibility of outsourcing to them production of part of the brands’ own leathergoods collections.
Assopellettieri called it a meeting point between supply and demand for high-quality leathergoods from skilled Italian manufacturers.
