Veg-tan consortium to make its mark at Lineapelle

18/02/2022

Tuscany’s veg-tanned leather consortium, the Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata, will host two special events at Lineapelle in Milan (February 22-24).

It will host on its stand a photographic exhibition called ‘Unique Pieces: The Faces of Lineapelle’.

The Consorzio will also present one of the talks in the Lineapelle technical programme, taking place at midday on February 23. The talk’s title will cover the procedural guidelines that the 20 member tanneries of the Consorzio have to follow.

Three speakers will analyse and explain the requirements that the tanners, who work in and around the leather manufacturing towns of Santa Croce sull’Arno, Ponte a Egola and San Miniato in Tuscany, have to meet to be able to call their leather genuine Italian veg-tanned leather.

Their meeting these regulations requires verification by Italy’s institute for certifying the quality of leather, ICEC.

Speakers at the event will be the Consorzio’s current president, Leonardo Volpi, its director, Barbara Mannucci, and ICEC director, Sabrina Frontini.
