Maserati selects Zegna’s special woven leather
Italian supercar company Maserati has enlisted the design skills of fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna for the interiors of its latest SUV, on show at the New York International Auto Show.

The Zegna Levante S Q4 GranSport showcases a newly designed ‘Pelletessuta’ leather interior with a bronze exterior.

Zegna has trademarked Pelletessuta. It consists of thin nappa lambskin leather yarns woven on a loom, replicating the traditional method of cloth weaving. The brand uses it for bags and accessories.

“The soft, luxurious, lightweight material is not only durable but brings comfort and beauty to the Levante interior,” said Maserati.

“Through a longstanding partnership between Zegna and Maserati, two historical Italian companies, Maserati is the only automotive company to bring this elevated Pelletessuta interior to the market.”

This interior trim will begin arriving in North American showrooms in the Spring of 2020 on multiple models.
