YNAP to enter luxury re-commerce arena

05/10/2021

Retail group Yoox Net-a-Porter (YNAP) recently announced its partnership with Lisbon-headquartered resale technology provider Reflaunt.

The idea is to enable customers across YNAP’s Net-a-Porter, Mr Porter and The Outnet brands to participate in a “more circular” fashion system by reselling their luxury goods via its platforms, beginning with the flagship Net-a-Porter business this autumn.

Mr Porter and The Outnet will follow suit in early 2022, the company said.

President of luxury and fashion for the three aforementioned retail brands, Alison Loehnis, commented: “More than ever, our customers are looking for fashion that is not only designed to last, but for ways in which it can go on to be re-loved.

“We see re-commerce as a true enabler to tap into greater product longevity by extending the lives of pre-loved purchases. This collaboration represents an exciting step in our long-term mission to drive the change at YNAP to a more circular fashion ecosystem.”

The company further suggested that the Yoox business would also engage with the resale market by 2025, as part of the group’s wider strategy to “unlock re-commerce".
