CLIA scholarship awards held at Wenzhou University
First established in 1995, the twenty-fifth edition of China Leather Industry Association (CLIA)’s annual scholarship awards ceremony took place at Wenzhou University, Zhejiang province’s Institute of Art and Design in November.
Delivering a speech during the awards, vice chairman of CLIA, Yan Ping, said: “A large number of [CLIA scholarship] leather students have used their studies and gone on to achieve great things in the industry. Many scientific and technological achievements have been made and [the scholarship] has become the backbone of the development of the leather industry.”
“I hope you will let your ideas fly, love your job and lay a solid foundation for society,” Mr Yan continued.
Other speakers at the ceremony alluded to Wenzhou’s status as the “shoe capital” of China and highlighted how Wenzhou University had long partnered with major Chinese shoe companies local to the institution, such as Red Dragonfly and Aokang shoes, preparing its leather students for success in the market.
