China's hide imports fell in October
Local media have reported that China’s hide imports decreased in October.
Compared to the previous month, the purchase weight of cowhide weighing more than 16 kilograms dropped by 16%, with the total number of imported cowhides falling by 13%.
China imported 51% of its hide sheets (47% of the total import weight) from the United States in October. Its second-largest source of hides was Australia, from which China imported 12% of its hide sheets (14% of the total import weight) during the same month.
On the other hand, China’s wet blue imports increased by 17% on the previous month in October.
19% of the total wet blue import volume came from the United States (China’s second-largest source of wet blue imports), whereas 57% of China’s total wet blue import volume was sourced from Brazil (the country’s largest source of wet blue imports).
