Mercedes-Benz expects vehicle deliveries to pick up in Q3

15/07/2019
Automotive group Mercedes-Benz has cited model changeovers within its SUV business as the reason for a decline in vehicle deliveries during the first half of 2019.

The company delivered more than 1.1 million vehicles in the first six months of the year, down 4.6% compared to the same period of 2018. Deliveries of SUVs, its most important segment in terms of volume, were down 13.3% year-on-year.

Overall deliveries were down across all key regions, including Europe (-4%), Asia-Pacific (-3.1%) and the NAFTA region (-4.1%).

The group has said it expects sales momentum to pick up in the third quarter, with the new GLC and GLC Coupé among the SUV models coming to market in the coming months.
