Mercedes-Benz has announced it sold 1,188,832 cars during the first half of 2018, an increase of 3.9% compared to the same period of last year.

This figure represents the most vehicles the company has ever sold in a half-year. It was achieved after the strongest quarter in its history from April to June, during which time it delivered 594,528 vehicles. 

China was Mercedes’ largest market in the first half of 2018, with over 340,000 units sold, an increase of 16.2% year on year. This led to growth of 12.5% in the Asia-Pacific region.

In contrast, there were decreases in the number of vehicles sold in Europe (-1.5%) and in the NAFTA region (-1.1%).
