Ferragamo makes a strong start to 2019

Luxury group Salvatore Ferragamo has reported revenue of €317 million in the first three months of 2019, an increase at constant exchange rates of 4.3% compared to the same period of last year.

The group’s net profit on this was €11 million, compared to €9 million in the first quarter of 2018.

Its revenue from footwear was more than €132 million, up 7.3% year-on-year. Sales of leathergoods increased 8.7% to nearly €126 million. There were declines in sales of apparel and of fragrances. 

Ferragamo recorded growth across most regions, with performance especially strong in the Asia-Pacific region (+7.9%) and in Central and South America (+12%). The only decline came in North America, where sales dipped by 0.7% compared to last year.
