Search for chief executive continues for Ferragamo

Luxury group Salvatore Ferragamo has elected Ferrucio Ferragamo as executive chairman. His son, James, will support him as vice chairman.

It said the new chairman has been granted “full powers and authority to manage the company”. He has been running the group since the departure of chief executive Eraldo Poletto in March.

Ferragamo’s board of directors also appointed Micaela Le Divelec, formerly of Gucci, as its new chief corporate officer. She will join James Ferragamo and Ugo Giorcelli, chief financial officer, as strategic managers of the company.

Reuters has reported that the company wants to set up an executive committee while it takes more time to look for a new chief CEO.

Following Ferragamo’s annual shareholder meeting on April 20, Ferrucio Ferragamo said the new chief executive would not be a member of the Ferragamo family.

“The new CEO must love and understand Ferragamo and I hope will come from within the company,” he explained.
