Disappointing July for Mercedes-Benz

08/08/2018
Mercedes-Benz has blamed “constraints in the availability of some models” for a dip in vehicle sales in July. Despite this setback, it remains on course for a record year.

During the month, the company sold 167,518 vehicles worldwide, but this number was 7.9% lower than in July 2017. Sales in Europe were down 13.9% and there was a dip of 19% in the NAFTA region. Asia-Pacific continues to perform strongly, however, with 73,484 vehicles sold in July, an improvement of 4.6% year on year.

Mercedes-Benz sold more than 1.35 million cars during the first seven months of 2018, an increase of 2.3% compared to the same period of last year.
