Leather secures funding in latest Kenya budget

The Kenyan government has unveiled its draft budget for the 2018/19 financial year, placing boosting manufacturing activity in the country as one of its four key pillars.

Cabinet secretary, Henry Rotich, presented the budget on June 14.

Among the initiatives he outlined was the allocation of Sh400 million (around $4 million) for the development of an industrial park for the leather industry.
