Re-elected president commits to Kenyan leather

Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta has given details of a five-year plan for his government following his re-election in October.

He said the government is committed to creatin more job opportunities, particularly for young people. Specific to the sectors connected to processing agricultural products, he said the government will help entrepreneurs set up 1,000 new small and medium-size enterprises.

He also said that leather processing is one of the areas of the economic that the government will look to for growth, alongside textiles, apparel, construction materials, IT and mining.
