Lectra to help seating supplier boost its production

Automated cutting technology provider Lectra has announced an extension to its partnership with French parts supplier Faurecia. 

It has signed an agreement to provide cutting technology for Faurecia’s automotive seating division, which is stepping up its manufacturing of seat covers, headrests and interiors. The division supplies complete seats, frames, mechanisms and trim covers for a number of global carmakers. 

Faurecia Seating is aiming to double production at its existing manufacturing facilities through the use of advanced manufacturing technologies. Its partnership with Lectra will help it move towards Industry 4.0.
 
Among the solutions that Lectra is providing is its Vector fabric-cutting technology. Faurecia currently has more than 60 of these machines in operation at its worldwide production sites.
