Lectra says new version of Versalis can deliver 15% cutting-room gains
Automated leather-cutting technology provider Lectra has said that the latest version of its Versalis LeatherSuite solution, version six, can boost cutting productivity by 15%.

“Versalis LeatherSuite V6 is a step towards an Industry 4.0-ready cutting-room for makers of leather for automotive interiors and furniture,” Lectra has said of the new technology. “The new version enables companies to boost productivity, achieve exceptional cut quality and expand data-monitoring capabilities. Furniture manufacturers can increase productivity by up to 6%, while automotive suppliers can increase theirs from 8% to 15%.”

Developed with the input of Lectra’s furniture and automotive customers, the new software suite embeds enhanced cutting algorithms, addressing the challenges faced by furniture and automotive customers, the company said, adding that the technology can enable manufacturers to manage “a wider range of production indicators” during the cutting process.

“With this release, Lectra marks a milestone in terms of customer experience and productivity,” said chief marketing officer, Céline Choussy Bedouet.
