“Remarkable” growth in leathergoods sales at Hermès
09/02/2017
The growth was driven by the brand’s leathergoods and saddlery division, which it describes as the “mainstay of the group”. This segment saw a 14% increase in sales compared to 2015. Hermès attributed this “remarkable” growth to the diversity of the designs it offers, including its Constance, Birkin and Kelly ranges of handbags.
The brand saw a solid rise of 8% in revenue at its stores, which was consistent across all geographical regions. Japan saw a 9% increase in revenue, sales in the rest of Asia grew 7%, revenue in America was up 7% and Europe’s sales jumped 8%. France, Hermès’ home market, saw a 5% increase in revenue.
