Stahl extends training initiative to China
30/08/2016
Stahl says the centre’s principal aim is to “share good practices in leather processing throughout the supply chain with clients and partners”. It hopes the facility will help “strengthen the knowledge and expertise in the world’s largest leather-producing country”.
The new campus is part of Guangzhou’s Centre of Excellence and offers training modules that cover the entire leather supply chain. Top leather schools and universities in the region will support modules for technicians and students.
Frans van den Heuvel, Global Stahl Campus manager, said that China is a strategic location. He added that despite China being the leading country in terms of quantity of leather produced, “, there is still a lot to gain throughout the supply chain when it comes to sustainability and innovative working methods”.
