Dr van Beijeren later told World Leather that he had been delighted to receive the honour and said that, when addressing a group of undergraduates at the ceremony in Hong Kong at the end of March, he had tried to make it clear to them that Stahl and all other big organisations are constantly searching for new talent.
“I told them I don’t like to call myself a CEO,” he said. “I prefer to call myself the COT, which stands for ‘collector of talent’.”
