‘Largest technical leather event’ under way in Brazil

The XXXIII IULTCS Congress is under way in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil, with 180 lectures scheduled over the four-day event (November 24 to 27).

The International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies has described it as the world's largest technical leather event.

Speakers include Dr Mark Stang, technical manager for colours and leather development at Bentley Motors, and JBS Couros’ marketing and sustainability manager, Fernando Bellese.

Álvaro Flores, coordinator of CSCB (the Brazilian Leather Sustainability Certification), will discuss the first certificate for leather to take into consideration economic, social and environmental matters.

The FLAQTIC (Latin American Federation of Leather Industry Chemists and Technicians Associations) Congress and Brazil’s ABQTIC conference take place concurrently.
