Izmir prepares for Leather Engineering Congress

Organisers of the Leather Engineering Congress (IAFLI 2017) have said increased awareness around recent industry developments is crucial to overcome challenges related to technology, environment and competition.

“Remarkable developments on tanning technology, machinery, chemicals, environmental management of waste, leather design and fashion have been achieved so far,” they said.

The fourth event, which will be held in Izmir, Turkey, on October 19 and 20, is being sponsored by chemicals group Stahl and the Turkish Leather Foundation, Turdev.

The deadline for papers submissions was September 4 and successful applicants will be notified on September 18. 

The social programme includes a boat tour.
