Stahl joins bluesign system

Leather chemicals maker Stahl has achieved the bluesign partner status, through which players throughout the supply chain jointly reduce their impact.

Huub van Beijeren, Stahl’s CEO, said: "The best way for the industry to achieve a sustainable future is via transparency and cooperation. The bluesign system partnership complements our portfolio of activities aligned to achieving a more transparent supply chain and eliminating hazardous substances." 
The bluesign system is based on a practice called Input Stream Management, which helps companies to replace hazardous chemicals with safer alternatives.

Stahl has committed to optimising management systems for environmental performance in five areas: resource productivity, consumer safety, water emissions, air emissions and occupational health and safety.
