Stahl completes acquisition of BASF leather chemicals
Following the approval of all relevant authorities, BASF and Stahl have completed the transfer of BASF’s leather chemicals business to the Stahl Group, with Stahl taking over the activities as of September 30, 2017.

In a statement on October 2, BASF said it will continue to manufacture and supply leather chemical products to Stahl under a series of supply agreements, some for the medium term and others on a longer-term footing.

The transaction also includes the leather chemicals production site at L’Hospitalet, near Barcelona. Around 210 positions globally have transferred to the Stahl Group.

As a result of the transaction, the wider BASF group now holds a 16% stake in Stahl.
