Egypt increases inspection regulations for leather shipments
05/07/2017
Mr Kabil said the decision has been taken in order to better regulate the country’s leather exports and to ensure data for shipments is accurate and cannot be manipulated.
Exporters must request an inspection from the GOEIC, which must be notified 48 working hours ahead of the inspection date.
The inspectors will examine the contents of containers before ensuring that they are safely sealed. The inspection report issued will include the type of leather and the quantity.
