In compliance with an order from Bangladesh’s Supreme Court, the Department of Environment (DoE) has cut off the power, water and gas lines to the tanneries in the country’s Hazaribagh cluster.

The DoE reported that 224 power connections, 193 water connections and 54 connections had been cut off. It said there had been “full co-operation” from the tannery owners.
