AHDB campaign to promote English beef in Europe

The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) is to invest more than £1.3 million in a PR campaign to boost exports of English beef and lamb to Europe.

The programme will focus on promoting beef and lamb in France, Spain and Belgium. AHDB has awarded contracts to public relations agencies in France and Spain to this end, with a similar deal expected to be struck in Belgium. The agencies will work on increasing the visibility of English beef and lamb on menus and in supermarkets in the countries.

"AHDB undertakes export market development work in a number of EU countries, some of which includes PR activity,” explained Guy Attenborough, director of corporate affairs for AHDB. “Some existing contracts for local in-country agencies who support us in this are coming to an end and we are looking to retender to meet our future PR needs in these markets."
