Lectra gives seminar at technical university in Milan

Cutting technology provider Lectra, has hosted a design and technology seminar for students from the design department at Politecnico di Milano, one of the largest technical universities in Italy.

The seminar gave students the chance to learn how recent technological innovations have helped boost creativity and improve efficiency in the upholstered furniture, marine and automotive markets. Caterina Rorro, marketing and communications director for Lectra Italy, talked to students about the importance of offering innovative ideas, accelerating the pace of development and reducing costs for companies across there three industries. 

Lectra also gave a demonstration of DesignConcept, a 2D/3D solution that the company developed to allow virtual prototyping and costing and creation of technical specifications. 

Politecnico di Milano’s department of design signed up to be part of the Lectra Education Programme in 2014. It allowed students of the university to access training and learn techniques that would give them an advantage when looking for jobs.
