Miti previously subcontracted leather cutting to external suppliers but has decided to overhaul production processes and create its first in-house cutting room. All of the company’s design and assembly processes already take place in-house.
“With an internal cutting room equipped with Lectra’s Versalis cutting solution, we gain control over hide consumption and operational costs while ensuring the quality of the cut pieces will satisfy even our most discerning customers,” said Roberto Poloni, Miti CEO.
He added that the Versalis precision cutting software has already allowed the company to “maximise material efficiency”.
“Versalis has a proven track record of helping upholstered furniture manufacturers around the world to consistently achieve high quality, significant material savings, and greater productivity,” said Céline Choussy Bedouet, chief marketing and communications officer of Lectra.
