The new farm, west of Kongola has forged relationships with local tanneries and the government in August announced it is planning to develop a new crocodile tannery nearby.
NDC manager Dieter Noelle said farming protects the vulnerable Nile crocodile population "Through the supply of crocodile skins commercially, the extinction of the wild crocodile in Africa has been avoided," he said.
The new farm is expected to open in 2017, according to the reports.
