The authorities in Namibia have confirmed that they want to develop a new crocodile tannery in the area around Kongola, situated in the country’s Caprivi Strip, a narrow stretch of land, close to Botswana, Angola and Zambia.

Deputy minister for trade and industry, Tjekero Tweya, mentioned the project in recent comments to local media while talking about wider agrifood developments in this region of Namibia.

Important rivers, including the Okavango, Kwando, Chobe and Zambezi, flow through the Caprivi strip.
