Lotus sales show steady improvement
Carmaker Lotus has reported that July was its best month for sports car sales since March 2011, selling 226 - an increase of 65% compared to July 2013.
The results follow a 31% rise in sales for the first quarter of the financial year and a record June.
Sales in the UK increased by 110% and in Germany by 83%.
Lotus CEO Jean-Marc Gales said: “The improved sales for July reward our efforts over the last months and I look forward to continuing this sales trend in the future.”
The company this week appointed former a Toyota and Kia executive, Jean-Charles Lievens to develop the network in France, Italy, Spain and Portugal.
Mr Gales added: “We are growing our dealer network throughout Asia, North America and Europe. The appointment of Jean-Charles Lievens comes at an appropriate time. We are looking to increase our presence in Southern Europe where there is a high demand for Lotus sports cars.”
