Sustainability on agenda for leather brands in Copenhagen

This year’s Copenhagen Fashion Summit is to take place on the one-year anniversary of the disaster in Bangladesh at the Rana Plaza garment factory and will host a special session, ‘One year after Rana Plaza’.

The Demark-based event, the largest global event on sustainable fashion, will feature keynote speakers from luxury group Kering, owner of Gucci, and leathergoods brand Bottega Veneta.

Marco Bizzarri, Bottega Veneta’s CEO, will present on sustainable solutions for the luxury industry, while Anita Engler, manager of design for recycling at carmaker Daimler, will give a talk titled ‘sustainability drives innovation’.

Summit patron Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark will open proceedings on April 24.
