Automotive group BMW increased its revenues for the first six months of this year by 2.8% to €38.1 billion. Its profits before tax climbed 19.6% to €4.8 billion.

In terms of volume, the group sold 6.9% more vehicles across its BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce brands, reaching just over 1 million cars in total. This is the first time that the group has sold more than one million vehicles in the first six months of any year.

The BMW brand recorded a 10.2% increase in deliveries in the first six months, reaching 886,347 units. The corresponding figure for Mini was down by 11.4% to 131,896 units, which the group attributed to a change in model of the Mini Hatch. It said the most recent figures indicated increasing acceptance of the new model.

For ultra-luxury brand, Rolls-Royce, sales increased worldwide by 33.4% to 1,968 vehicles.
